Door-to-door Census taking in August

The next phase of Census 2020 is scheduled to kick off Aug. 11.

The in-person, door-to-door count is scheduled to take place between Aug. 11 and Oct. 31. A U.S. Census Taker will visit households who have yet to respond to the 2020 Census. These enumerators will follow local public health guidelines when they visit. If masks are required in the area, Census Takers will wear them.  The most effective way for members of the public to be less likely to be visited by a Census Taker is to self-respond to the 2020 Census today by mail, phone, or online.

If you have not yet received your 2020 Census form in the mail and you use a post office box or have a rural route address, Census workers are dropping off 2020 Census forms. Once you receive your forms, please respond online, by phone or by mail.

Census results will help shape the community around you including clinics, Cooperative Extension services, formula grants for rural areas, Medicaid, Medicare and more.

City of Lake Ozark residents are asked to respond by mail, phone, or online. The phone number is 844-330-2020 and is staffed from 6 a.m. to midnight.
