Planning and Zoning Commission

The City of Lake Ozark Planning and Zoning Commission is made up of a total of eight (8) members consisting of seven (7) citizen members and at least one (1) Alderman. The Mayor, with the consent of the Board of Aldermen, appoints members of the Planning and Zoning Commission to serve four-year terms with the exception of the Alderman who is appointed to the Commission annually. The Mayor may also serve as a member of the Commission.

The officers of the Commission include a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson/Secretary who are elected annually by the Planning and Zoning Commission. The function, powers and duties of the Planning and Zoning Commission are authorized by Municipal Codes and Missouri State Statutes.

The Planning and Zoning Commission is a technical committee that serves as an advisory body to the Board of Aldermen on matters involving planning, zoning, the City’s comprehensive plan, land uses and growth and development.

The Planning and Zoning Commission holds open public meetings the first Wednesday of every month at 5 p.m. at the Lake Ozark City Hall Council Chambers.
